1. Introduction
Michael of Nebadon, also known as Jesus, the Creator Son, prepared for his seventh and final bestowal, which was to take place on Urantia (Earth) in the form of a mortal human. The previous six bestowals occurred among various classes of intelligent beings, allowing Michael to gain the experience necessary to govern the universe. The purpose of the bestowals was not only to attain power but also to understand and cooperate with the Paradise Trinity.
2. The Purpose of the Bestowals
Michael sought to attain supreme authority not through arbitrary rule but through experience and cooperation with the Paradise Trinity. Each of the seven bestowals represented submission to different aspects of the will of the Paradise Deities, aiming to achieve the highest wisdom and perfection in the administration of the universe.
3. Preparations for the Seventh Bestowal
Michael chose Urantia as the location for his final bestowal. Before his incarnation, he transferred the authority over the universe to his elder brother, Emmanuel, who was to oversee Nebadon during Michael’s absence. Emmanuel provided Michael with advice regarding his mission on Urantia, emphasizing that he should focus on revealing God the Father and living a fully human life.
4. Recommendations for the Seventh Bestowal
Emmanuel presented Michael with a series of recommendations to assist him in fulfilling his mission on Urantia:
- Life as a Mortal: Michael was to live as an ordinary human, subject to the will of the Paradise Father, to experience the fullness of human life.
- Ending the Lucifer Rebellion: Michael was to formally end the Lucifer rebellion in the Satania system, acting as a mortal human rather than an omnipotent Creator.
- Title of Planetary Prince of Urantia: Upon completing his mission, Michael was to assume the title of Planetary Prince of Urantia to compensate for the damages caused by the Caligastia rebellion.
- Declaration of Judgment and Resurrection: The mission was to conclude with the declaration of judgment, the resurrection of the sleeping survivors, and the establishment of the Spirit of Truth.
- Role as a Teacher: Michael was to focus on the spiritual and intellectual enlightenment of humanity, as well as their physical health and material well-being.
- Life as an Inspiration: His life on Urantia was to become an inspiration for all beings in Nebadon, not just for the people of Earth.
- Revelation of God and Man: Michael was to reveal God to humanity while simultaneously demonstrating the potential of humans to superhuman beings.
- Avoidance of Idolatry: Michael was to avoid leaving behind physical traces, such as writings or images, to prevent idolatry.
5. Limitations of the Bestowal
Michael was to live as an ordinary mortal while retaining his divine identity. His creative prerogatives were to remain tied to his mortal personality, but he was not to use them arbitrarily. His life was to serve as an example of the perfect union of the will of creation and the Creator.
6. Incarnation – The Making of Two into One
Michael was not a dual personality—God and man—but a single, unified being. His incarnation on Urantia aimed to expand the revelation of God and demonstrate that God can act in natural and ordinary ways, even through the miracle of incarnation.
7. Conclusion
Michael left Salvington and went to Urantia to begin his bestowal. His mission aimed not only to attain supreme authority but also to reveal God to humanity and show that a life fully surrendered to the will of God can yield the highest spiritual fruits.
